I'd like to use a touch screen monitor behind a sheet of glass 1/4". How much performance loss can I expect or are they all adjustable? Are some better than others?
I am not 100% sure, but as far as i know most if not all touchscreens rely on the conductive properties of their immediate surfaces. I am not sure if any touchscreen will work well through a sheet of glass.

Hello, we supply touchscreen computers that work through glass, such as shop windows, coffee tables, service counters, if you take a look on our website www.kioscreen.com - they work through glass layers up to 10mm thick.

I'm guessing that infrared and optical imaging would have the most trouble with having a glass layer added, especially since the bezel depth to allow the IR/optical sensors around the edges would cause an air gap.
