I posted in another section about the best ram for this board, but now i'm wondering what CPU... I'm prolly going to overclock the board, but either way, I'm wondering if i should get a 3200+ Barton (400mhz), a 3000+, or go with a Moblie... Any ideas? Thanks
PS: I haven't bought anything for the board yet.... so i can't give ya more specs.

You have the choice of achieving around 2.46Ghz with normal Barton or ~2.65Ghz with XP-M Barton on good aircooling.

Your choice.

I probably didn't do my research... but all of the XP-M bartons i could find have a fsb of 266... and i could only find them up to a 2600+... Ok.. Ok... this shows my noobishness, but are these the cpus that will hit 2.65ghz?

At least 2.65Ghz with good aircooling in general. And with the right mobo&RAM you'll be most likely running them at 240Mhz+ FSB anyway.

For use in a laptop, an fsb of 133/266 is good, and cool. The same chip may handle 250/500, in a desktop, with great cooling, and a lot of extra voltage. I sold my xp-m2500 over a year ago. It had been running 2.4ghz for a year. The person who bought it has done the same. He's a very happy camper.

OK.... this is good.... I have a few more questions though... is there any reason to get a 2500+ M over say a 2600+ M or higher? i'm looking around e bay right now and i see a few that are dirt cheap. And Non-DOA, but some have a fsb of 333, some of 266. Since i'm going to be putting it higher anyway should i go for the 333? Thanks again.

News to me. I've never heard of an xp-m that used a 166 fsb.
Dont bother with the ones that say 333, either they aint real xp-m chips, or the guy doesn't know shite.
I would recommend the cheaper one, if you know it's good. The truth is, either one will OC as well, it just depends on luck, and skill.

Even though there are more users overall reporting higher clock with 2600+ compared to 2500+, it all depends on luck as endyen said.

Go for the cheapest of the two.

The cpu id that was posted with the "2500+ 333" linked to a 2500+ 266 and was the cheapest... so i'm happy either way. The pic was of a barton anyway. and for $50 i'm not complaining. Thanks for all the help.

The CPU ID has to say it's a XP-M.
Thinking about it now, I could sell my 2500+ Barton as a XP-M. It has all the qualities of a XP-M afterall. All it needs now is a simple L5 bridge mod.
