Here are my pc stats
Msi Neo4 Platinum Sli
amd64 4000
2 gigs ddr4000 Crucial Balistix
BFG 7800GTX
WinXP 64
I'm having troubles getting core cell or any of the
msi tools to work properly.
I would like to start OC'ing this rig, but I'm don't have much experince with the bios settings. I was hoping the corecell program would make this easier.
Does anyone have an suggestions? Or have any good links about oc'ing this board?
(off-topic)
My board is pci-ex2 x16
is it split to x8 if in sli mode?
or 16 each?
Also if I have two 7800gtx and it is in x8 mode
will i hit a ceiling.
I have too many questions and there are to many forums.
hmmm, well, lets start with the simplest one
yes the X16 pipeline is split into 2 X8 lanes when in SLI mode
Rule of thumb....there will always be a ceiling when dealing with graphics cards. its just a matter of when we hit it. I'm not positive on the exact numbers for 7800's in sli mode to tell you the perfomance gains.
as for your 1st question, I F$*!ing HATE core cell software. If you are new to overclocking, i would say to simply be careful. research it. its very rewarding when you are done.
try this link. i love it.

If all men said what they thought, they'd be speechless

Unequivically no. If you were able to hook up 4 cards, the answer would be the same. Sli only adds slightly to the work load coming from the chip. The graphics processing takes those inputs, and dose the work.
I'm guessing that you are new to OCing. Shortcuts may not be the best idea. Why dont you take a trip to the OC forum, read a bit, ask a few questions, and try OCing the old fashioned way. It will help to keep you from pushing too far, right away. Besides, your chip is already a monster, and may not have too much head room, so soft hands are called for.
