Sandisk memory card from cell phone

Hello,
my computer just started asking me to 'format my drive:d' when i put plugin my sandisk holding my memory card from my phone. i used to be able to plug it into my computer and download my pictures easily now i have this problem.

I just cleaned the contacts and it didn't work. I had only kept 4 pictures on the memory card to see what would happen if I did FORMAT it. When I tried this it wouldn't even format. Said ' Windows was unable to do so, to check if it was a read only file'. I'm not very tech savy so am at a stand still. I do know that when I put my camera memory card into it's SanDisk sleve and use the same insert area in my computer everything works fine.???? Any other ideas?
