CPU Voltage

Anybody know which voltage gets stepped down to power the CPU? I'm assuming its not the 12v, but I'm not sure.

Why? With higher voltage, you need less current to achieve the same amount of power. Intel is using the 12 volt rail, I'm fairly sure Amd does as well.

ok.. so now I know it is the 12v rail...

next question.. how many amps will a socket 478 prescott draw?

Antec's tech support is trying to tell me that the CPU and CPU fan are on one 12v Voltage rail, and that every other 12v accessory is on the second. That sound right?

Sorry... its a 3.4 prescott in the 478 socket

the powersupply is the Antec true power2 480 watt. It does have a split 12v rail, both rated at 18a. I was just curious and was trying to figure out which connectors were on which rail.
