Inspiron 1150 headset microphone quit working

I have been using my headset w/microphone for the Dragon Speak program.
now it has quit working and I even checked it from the sounds and audio devices but nothing works.

Have you tried it on another PC to ensure that the heatset is working? If you have an old/spare mic laying around, you can try that on your PC to see if it works. If it doesn't, it's definitely an issue with the sound card.

In the meantime, you can try heading to Dell's support site and downloading/reinstalling the sound card driver to see if that gets it going again.
