I've brought a board back to life which I give myself cootos for.
But... yes there is a but to the problem. It won't go into game mode.
I've checked all the obvious d17, 5101 /w known working. new cpus, new
pia's .. Turns the game on..I hear a click and its in auditing mode.
turn on and off rapidly.. guess what .. still in auditing mode. Any
insite where else to check.

Ummm, can you advance it manually to gave over mode?

I had that problem when the 2114 RAM chips were bad. Could be the
address drivers to the RAM also. On last
thing, make sure the jumpers are correct for the EEPROM you are using.

What does the 5101 ram socket look like? Try reflow the solder joints
on the 22 pin 5101 socket. most if not all came from the factory
without the socket.
