Hello everyone! Im building a new PC, and I'm using it for school, video editing, and games. I'm trying to keep it around $550, since building a computer is cheaper than buying a already built one. Here are the specs:

Power supply: CORSAIR builder series CX430 V2 430W power supply

Video card: XFX Radeon HD 6770

Cd-dvd drive: SONY Black SATA DVD-ROM

Motherboard: ASUS M5A99X EVO ATX AMD

Hard drive: Western digital 500GB

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.0GHz quad-core

Case: Cooler master elite 430 bundled w/ 4 GB ram (2x2gb)

Thoughts? Should I change anything?

Hi mate, first off did you mean you've already bought this? If not then:

I would change the video card if you can but at your budget you can't. I don't see anything wrong with it, you've dont a good job to be honest.

You have a good quad core for your video rendering and the graphics card is ok at low resolutions.

Go for it, I dont see anything wrong, you've done a good job at choosing.

Everything you picked out would work rather nicely for your needs. The only thing I would change is the cpu and gpu. The gpu though Is the main thing I would reconsider getting. Bumping the 6770 to a 6850 or 6870. those two cards could play most modern games on high with maybe aa off and older games on very high. As for the cpu I would go up to the phenom II x2 which you could unlock to make it a quad core as well.
