Two possible reasons:
1) You need to install a later version of DirectX from Microsoft (DirectX includes Direct 3D drivers): http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=35
2) The screensaver in question is a 3D one, and your graphics adapter does not support 3D.
#2 however is very unlikely on a new or fairly new PC or laptop.
#1 is the most likely reason, so I would update DirectX.
