Hey guys, for an AMD sys using stock HSF, planning a modest 10-15% overlock... would it be worth it to pickup Artic Silver 5 Thermal paste for a couple bucks to keep the temp down a few degrees? Or should I not even both and just use the standard thermal paste?

Just stick with the standard stuff. There's really not that much advantage to it for your needs.

The standard stuff should be OK, but will make CPU removal harder. I rather use Artic style stuff with A64 CPU. The HS mount make it difficult to twist the HS to break the contact, and most of the time, the CPU come out of the socket with the HS which is very scary. Artic stuff is not so sticky.

A good point, but I didn't have that problem when I removed my stock HSF.

Probably worth getting some AS5 or similar for the inevitable day when he does change the HSF (AMD stock is fairly quiet, but I still wanted a quieter one)
