using a fat32 H/D

hi all
i got my new pc up and running and its time 2 move over the files ....my Q 4 u is :- can a h/d under fat32 ( win 98se )b read under ( ntfs i think ) Xp pro ??.......then i could set it 2 slave pop it in and rip the files over ......if not is there any way around this??

all help will b recived with open arms .....heh

I think it can be read by ntfs and I believe you will be able to transfer the files over too

what i did is 2 put the boot up H/D on ide1 set @ master dvd slave .......fat32 h/d on ide2 set @ slave ...cr w/r as master but still no joy :-(

found this out as well........the drive dont show up under my computer......but it shows the fat32 H/D under device manager also noticed that under device manager --- right click properties that the device usage right at the bottom is blank ??
why that then
