Power problems

i have an acer aspire. the power cord lightsup when plugged in but the laptop does'nt come on. how do i get this fixed?

You mean when you press the power button it does not even try to boot up? No power light or anything?

Have you spilled any liquid near the power switch?

You can also try this: unplug the power cord, remove the battery, wait 5-15 minutes, reinstall the battery, connect power, and try again.
