So my search for a glossy screen monitor is fading. The ones I find either don't have vesa mounting ability or are priced over my reasonable limit. I'm now turning my direction at tv's as monitors to get my glossy screen monitor.

As such, I ask you dear Tom community. What do I need to know as far as criteria for setting up a t.v. as a monitor? Do I need adapters, special resolution, etc.?

Thanks again, for all your help!

a dvi or hdmi port on your video card. preferably a card which supports sound out via dvi if you use dvi.

if dvi you will need a dvi to hdmi cable which can carry sound. if hdmi then just a hdmi cable (sometimes video cards have a mini-hdmi so you would need the adapter cable).

other than that...with the tv specs i listed things should be plug and play.
