Just use a mechanical pencil. I've heard sometimes it wears off, and you have to re-apply. However, mine's been working fine for 6 weeks w/ no problems yet.
I didn't have a pencil or conductive pen handy so I came up with this one, I've never seen it suggested anywhere before but it worked great for me:
Get hold of some regular solder (thin is better) and take a a utility knife or sharp scissors and cut then end off at an angle to make a sharp point. Then cut the first 1/2 inch or so off and hold it with tweezers near the sharp tip you cut. Simply rub the tip back and forth with firm pressure over the broken L1 connections and it builds up a nice layer. The chip potting they use is very abrasive and picks up the solder easily.
Worked great for me first time and I bet it's more reliable than a semi conductive pencil.
You can use almost any type of pencil, but in my experience
HB or 2B work the best.
Be sure to sharpen your pencil first and then "top it off" al little bit (take a paper and draw some lines)
that should do the trick
