Hey Guys!

My TZ has to warm up for at least 20 minutes otherwise it will reset
during multiball. If I simply pop it on and immediately begin a game I
have a problem. Should I go the route of replacing the bridge
rectifiers? I took my Addams Family power board and swapped it with TZ
and it still happens however Addams works fine. Might be a ribbon cable
or something else on one of the other boards. What do you think?

I really appreciate your advice and time.

It could be a bad thermistor (located in the power control box where the
on-off switch is located). Clay's repair guide suggests using a jumper to
bypass the thermistor to determine if it's defective.

It could also be the connectors that plug onto J101 and J102 of the power
driver board. Let the game warm up for 20 minutes or so, then remove the
translite, open the insert panel, and feel the connector housing. If it's
more than mildly warm to the touch I'd suggest you consider replacing the
connector.

I would check the voltage at your outlet. You should be getting 120VAC. I
have heard of problems with TZ resetting with line voltage at 117V. My game
resets at about 115VAC. Its a quick and easy thing to check before you
start replacing stuff. If your voltage is low, call up your electric
utility and notify them.
