SSt ball shooter ... a common problem?

I have a Sega Starship Troopers which, unfortunately, fails to
successfully autolaunch about one in three balls during multiball.

The launcher does hit the ball hard enough. But the ball seems to hit
something and rattle around in the ejection lane and doesn't make it all
the way onto the playfield, before rolling back down the right outlane.

The problem compounds if there's another ball launching behind it ...
they both drain.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

l had the same problem as you

after following the advise previously given
by members l have gotten mine working at around 90%
