very frustrating using a 1/4" mini crescent wrench to remove metal mini
posts from the playfields (and reinstall - Medusa has like 20 of
these). Went on a quest to Sears for:

1) deep nutdriver. No dice.

2) tried drilling out a nutdriver. No dice.

3) looked for deep well socket in 1/4". HA!

4) in the bargin area of the counter they had an decopauge design
flower handled reversible screwdriver and double nutdriver - perfect
for stuff. 2 flat, 2 phillips, one side is 1/4" nutdriver with about 3
inches clearance (you can go all the way to the PF with a post stud)
and the other side is .... errr... the size that almost every other
item is on the PF (5/16" I think) and only $3.99..... I bought 2 so
that when I lose one I can find the other. Biggest disadvantage is
that it's ugly.

Sears does sell a 1/4 drive deep socket that works with these. I have
two of them. Just have to make sure you check the sockets for the
right one. The deep sockets look the same on the outside, but one of
them has the clearance needed inside.

they might have been out of it they had 1/4 deep well sockets and also
several empty pegs for the same. At any rate, I like the 3.99 screw
driver, I won't need the extra leverage a socket wrench could afford.

I have always just used ignition wrenches for the small stuff that a
hollow nut driver can't get. Sockets should work fine, and those small
sets are pretty cheap.

Better deal at Harbor Freight.

Similar tool. Screwdriver with two reversible
double-headed bits. Holder is 1/4 on one end,
5/16 on the other. Fits everywhere. $1.99.

Bright, flourescent handles.

I get buckets of them when they are on sale.
