Im really surprised no one has made a thread about this. For those of you who do not know Rupert Murdoch is the CEO of News Corp, the second largest media conglomerate in the world(Right behind Disney). Mr. Murdoch and his son are currently on trial for the phone hacking scandal his company participated in (World News). Rupert Murdoch has an estimated value of 6.2 Billion $.

What do you think this guy knew? I don't believe that he told anyone to go collect voice mail messages from anyone but silently acknowledged bad business practices for the sake of getting a good story. Anyone remember the collective amnesia his management went through??

Now the man who outed the story was found dead http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5gAnGR... Supposedly under normal circumstances.

News International's holding include Fox News (And literally hundreds of others). We all know that Fox has had its fair share of controversies over the years http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox_News_Channel_controver... . http://www.newsweek.com/2009/10/17/the-o-garbage-factor...

And someone tried to hit him with a pie. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2011/07/19/rupert-murdo...
I would have suggested a stake to the heart but.........

Whats your view on one of the most powerful conservatives getting in some hot water? I don't find this surprising in the least. And from listening to the hearings live on my lunch personally he sounds like an idiot. If he gets a tricky question he can never really remember what he did or who advised him.

Not much on trial as he is in front of Parliament. Questions will be asked and a final call will be made if he needs to go to court.

It's a terrible situation. Rupert Murdoch testified in Parliament today about phone hacking by his tabloids. They are full of sex scandals, crime, scantily-clad women, and conservative editorials. Nobody ever realized that a combination of Reagan's philosophy and Clinton's morals could save journalism.

Is Fox News reporting this?

Fox ran uninterrupted old flicks all morning of Ruppert Murdock when He was the lead singer for the Animals. Louie Louie ran commercial free for an hour straight while Jamie Colby danced herself into exhaustion doing the swim, mashed potato and boney maroney in an itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini.

Murdock steps out front leading the Animals.

I don't think he knew much at all ... but the editors of the papers knew.

We will probablyfind out that the phone hacking issue is widespread and every paper was doing it.

Murdoch is just being used as a scapegoat.

The UK like a tall poppy to cut down ... makes the poor and weak feel better about their lot in life.

The entire saga is a complete clusterfrack and typical of how the UK deals with problems when they are down and out.

Economically the UK is probably worse off than the US, especially with Ireland being down to their last brass razoo though ...

The British hate Murdoch ... principally because his father esposed the British government for the coverup of Gallipoli ... where the ineptitude of the British command saw 120,000 troops slaughtered, including many young Australian and New Zealanders who were sent in as shock troops ahead of the main force ... to the wrong landing point.

I doubt Murdoch or his son knew anything about this phone hacking issue ... it was way down at the level of peons.

The Brits are the past masters of dealing with tall poppies.

They assassinated their own princess ... can you do any better than that?
