Why my tv not connect with laptop

hi i my laptop has vga port my tv has hdmi . i bought vga to hdmi converter bt still no singal wat can i do?

Did you tell the laptop to use the external monitor? Did you actually purchase a VGA to HDMI scan converter, or just a VGA to DVI plug adapter?

hi its a vga to hdmi coverter box. have to plug hdmi lead to it and vga lead to it. hasnt got anythin to do with dvi on it . what should i do. wen my tv and laptop on its says no singal?

Again, did you tell the laptop to use the external monitor? For most you need to hit a special key combination to toggle through the options of internal monitor only, external only, and finally both.
