Looking for modest laptop

I'm mainly looking for something simple, reliable, and basic. The laptop would mostly be used from the couch to use the internet/microsoft office/music and video media
1. What is your budget?
500-800 dollars

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
14-15 inch

3. What screen resolution do you want?
Not a priority

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Not a priority

5. How much battery life do you need?
4 hours

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop?
If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? very basic, nothing intenser than HL2

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)
microsoft office, music/video use

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
no preference

as long as possible

. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. no real preferense. HP seems nice, sager seems to be popular

I like the Dell Studio 15 and the ASUS UL20A. Both are very reliable, very well priced, and perform very nicely.
