I have an PowerBook G4 that I had my palm software loaded onto. Last
week I got an error message "Palm Desktop Background Unexpected End of
Life" I can no longer access my desktop. I don't find this error in
my books or at the Palm website. I'm wondering if any of the other
users has had this problem and knows how to fix it.
Deinstalling the software and reinstalling does not work. The error
message continues to reappear

Which Mac OS are you running? Did you install or change anything recently?

I'm on OSX. It is a fairly new system. I put some business software
on but there was quite a difference between when I did that and the
failure. There was a milage program that I put on the PDA that I just
started using. I can't figure out how to delete it without the laptop.
Thanks.

Mac OS 10. what?
Can you delete the mileage program by going to the list of applications on
the handheld and deleting it there?
