Children please! Both AMD and Intel are companies and as such they want your money. They both try to make a product that you will want to buy and both make good products. As much as it pains me to say Intel is ahead and they will stay ahead for one reason. Money. They have the most and they want to keep it that way. Do you think Intel wants to deal with the DOJ like Microsoft? They need a competitor to keep the DOJ off their @rse. They need AMD to be ahead some of the time so they can tell the DOJ "look we do have competition, we are even behind right now". Reducing market share is a good thing if you are trying to not look like a monopoly. Intel is going to be the first to use the bigger wafers, the first to .13 microns, and the first to come out with fast low power chips for laptops. With a few exceptions they make a good reliable product and their specs make other companies produce good products. If AMD ever did get seriously behind, Intel would be wise to help them out because a strong AMD is better than the DOJ for Intel and for all of us.
