Can you deduct from the kind of lock up what component caused it?
In my case: after 10 - 60min of d3d gameplay the games crash to desktop without error message, windows continues to run smooth.
in OpenGL the games lock up with constantly replaying the last 1/2 sec sound. after multiple CRTL-ALT-DEL the system goes to blue error screen...
(Its not the gfx driver or clock!)
