what should I get next?

Ok so I have a P3 800E @ 1.008Ghz, (17hr stab cert) and a P3V4X motherboard, 128mb SDRAM & Prophet2 64. I definately want to upgrade this POS motherboard to a DDR one, but recon slot 1 DDR boards wont be available- at least not Abit or Asus (wont buy any other make). So I think AMD is the way to go, but what are my options, seeing as I need at least 1.5Gz to make the upgrade worthwile...what is one horizon from AMD that will top the P4?
