first why would you want to? XP can do everything 98 can and then some, the only reason I can think of would be gaming which 98 is hardly faster at... you can install 98 on one of your other partitions or harddrives, that would keep your data intact. I realy dont understand why it would be worth the hassel though.

"C'mon DM,let's see some REAL monsters!" And then you turn the corner as the Dungeon Master chuckles... DM: "It hits and... Oh hold on... I need more dice"

You can get the info from here:

There are always some apps or games cannot run in winXP...good luck pal...normally I install win98 first follow by winXP. So to do the other way round, make sure that your C drive is not NTFS format...

hi
ok here is how i solved the prob (myself)
i got 2 HD(primary Western digital secondary seagate) i got to XP on each drives my dad uses the primary and it got some important data on it and sec is used by me with not so important data =)
now to install 98 i was required to format primary HD (which was not a wise move considering my dad wil kil me for that!!!) so i was kinda stuck here i used my ever so consious brain and decided to try a trick of my own(left the back door opened if anything might went wrong)
i dissconnected sec HD cable and checked if dads XP was still there much to my delight it was still operational than i used the primary cable on my secondary HD(which got no jumper) and formated that HD after that i installed the win98 and it ran fine now i used the secondary cable on the primary HD(jumper set to primary) to c if XP might boot but nada
so i turned my attention to the bios there i changed the HD formation to primary(XP) than secondary(win98) wallaaaaaaaa XP was up and running but no win98 changing the HD formation from Sec(win98,still no jumper) and than primary(XP,jumper still set to primary) booted my win 98 (phew)
ahh this brings this long and hopefully interesting story to a happy ending.hope this helps others out there
now i can go and shut the back door =)
