Can anyone suggest a QUIET fan for a TBird 900? I have a Global Win FOP38 and while I'm sure it does a nice job cooling, I have to be able to work in the same room as the computer.

I was looking at the CoolerMaster DP5-6H51 on their website which has a db rating of 32.8 (vrs 46.5db for the FOB38 - each 10db DOUBLES the noise level if I remember correctly). AMD recommends it up to 1.2GHz.

Any thoughts?

PS: If anyone does any heatsink/fan and/or power supply comparisons can they PLEASE include noise levels...

The Comair Quiet Fan that I have on my OCZ Monster II is pretty quiet. According to a review I read it is much quieter than the Delta Fan but not as quiet as the Sunon and YS Tech fans. I don't know what you have there on the Global WIN FOP-38.

Here is a link to the cooler review:

I thought 3 db represented a doubling of sound level and 10 db is 10-fold.

the taisol's are good coolers and they are quiet. the 733 is pretty inexpensive and works well. then you have the 734 which has a bigger heatsink, then the 742 is the best but a little expensive. but then again, if you spent the money for the fop-38 then the taisol 742 isn't expensive.

You could try the SuperOrb of Chrome Orb. They run at 30 and 29db respectively and cost around 24 and 12 respectively. Look at www.thermaltake.com and you can search on price watch for cheap prices.
