$40 PC Speakers???

What would you recommend? I need all-around good speakers (maybe Creative INSPIRE T3130?). Also, another question, how much of a difference is there between something like the T3130 and Logitech Z523 (connected to a PC with THX TruStudio or Asus Crystal Sound)???

You one you linked is 45$ and 82$. That's not a fair comparison. You get what you pay for, so of course the 82$ Logitech will be better.

Also consider Bose Companion II speakers. Prices range from $70 to $99.

i wouldnt touch bose speakers with a 10ft stick. bose is 95% marketing hype. for a third of the price you can find speakers which sound just as good. bose is well known for slapping together an inferior product and through technology making it sound better. your choice but be advised. i've owned a set of headphones once and i've since learned my lesson!

for $40 i would have to recommend the 2.1 set from logitech. not sure of the model but its the one with rounded edges at that price point not the squarish one. my uncle got it recently based on my recommendation and couldnt be happier. for that price range logitech is a solid competitor. not saying they are the only choice, just that you should definitely think about it.

I have two sets of Bose Companion II speakers, and one set of Bose desktop speakers in use for over 2 years. Excellent quality!

well we are both entitled to our own opinion. i have a bose speaker set in my car and it works fine but for the same price i could have something better. bose is overpriced.

Overpriced? Probably. I still like the performance.
