VP6 is semi-ok I guess, not the greatest for moving data on bus but its has decent options
Your better off with 800E CPU
Golden orbs are not as efficiant as others recently reviewed
ATI makes a decent video card w/hardware DVD + drivers
you can buy 512mb of PC150 ram for that price, that is capable of CAS2 at that speed.
Consider running 4 of the ATA100 drives striped. Theoreticly higher transfers with ABit RAID solution over SCSI. you can get 80gb HD @ 5400RPM for less with decent performance (high density of drive makes for good performance, low RMP reduces heat)
Tekram SCSI?? um, ok... Adaptec SCSI 320 sounds better to me if you really need scsi.
Creative desktop seems kinda pricey for quality. Check out Altec Lansing or Harmon Kardon
Consider a trinitron tube monitor, not sure if thats a trinitron.
