CPU facts

I'm looking for the physcial properties of CPUs. The more the better. Ideally, I'd like to get the physical size (in mm^2), the transistor count, and the manufacture technology (e.g. .25micron) for all x86 CPUs (mainly from Intel and AMD) starting with the 8088. I need the information for a study I'm heading.

If someone could point me in the right direction as to where this information is available I'd appreciate it! I searched all through Intel's site but couldn't find the information I was looking for.

Thanks in advance.

i have a crappy "benchmark" called testcpu. it isn't worth using as a benchmark but it does have a museum page which lists a lot of processor specs ranging from the 386dx to the p3E and classic athlon. the specs include die size, transistors, date of introduction, bus speed, cache structure, ... it's only an executable and it's only 575kb. if you want you can e-mail me at ledzepp98@yahoo.com and i'll send it to you as an attachment. sorry i can't help you with the much earlier processors.

Well what do ya know I just happened upon this article the other day:

http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1379&p=1

Now seeing as you are at Tom's be sure to check out his preliminary (or first looks) at new processors. You'll learn more than your head will ever know.

I also had some other sites from a while back if I find them I will post them.

Here is some another site in the mean time:
