Need advice on gaming monitor 24-27"

In the market for a monitor in the 24-27" range with a max I will spend of $900.

Games I currently play are BF3, WOW, SWTOR and Batman Arkham City.

Leaning towards an IPS over a TN based monitor since I dont play as many FPS games currently. I was thinking a 2560x1440 display would be great such as the U2711.

Basically want your all opinions on what would be the best monitor for the games I play while sticking at the limit I have as I have not purchased a new monitor for a bit now and want something nicer for my setup.

The u2711 is good, but has a bit of lag and I don't think you really need a 2560x1440 display if you use anti-aliasing.

I have an hp zr2740w and a dell u3011 at home, and a dell u2410 at work. Out of them the best gaming monitor is probably the u2410.

And honestly, if you're not playing FPS the u2711s tiny bit of lag won't matter.

What about all these AG comments I am reading about? Unfortunately no store in my area has the 2711 in stock so I can't see it for myself
