I am, without a doubt, the worst ADOM player ever. I have recently
managed to lose not one, but two, very strong PCs to late game
stupidity. I could blame it on almost a year of non-playing, but
really, there was no excuse for either of these awful YASDs.
The first one was a gnomish fighter, who was well equipped, highly
experienced, and all of that, but neglected to wear a source of death
ray resistance while fighting the Chaos Archmage in the mana temple,
and after dodging a few bolts, came to his inevitable demise.

His achievements during his adventures:

Gorw, the gnomish fighter, was extinguished by Nuurag-Vaarn, the
invisible

He scored 1507658 points and advanced to level 42.
He survived for 0 years, 52 days, 16 hours, 2 minutes and 19 seconds

That was all in all a pathetic defeat unrivaled until today, when a
YAVP that could've been a YUAVP if it weren't for an unfortunate early
crowning was slain trying to melee the Ancient Karmic Wyrm. This PC had
found 2 RoDS, and polypiled 3 more, and misused almost every wish. He
later tried to polypile even more, but just ended up horribly corrupted
by exploding !oRC. He also brought 6 SoCR on his pointless trip to the
SIL, and naturally had 4 of them burnt by lightning breath, leading to
him dying fairly corrupted.
The only neat thing that happened was, on a late game visit to the
SIL, Protector was generated and, upon leaving the level, appeared in
his backpack. This human barbarian was also very well equipped to win
the game, but had to push his luck fighting a hopeless fight.

Trust me: if you manage to get even *one* character *to* the late game
in the first place, you are very far from the worst ADoM player ever.
I'm fairly far from the worst ever, IMO, and I've never managed that
without heavy cheating.
Doesn't mean they weren't SDs (and from the descriptions, they do look
to be), but you're nowhere near as bad as you make yourself out to be.

I mean that, like the wanderer, I've never gotten to the late game
without cheating, but unlike the wanderer, I've never gotten a
character past level 14. That make more sense?

People aren't taking the hint here.
I *need* context. I need quotation. I can't be expected to remember what
this thread was about, and I don't want to have to go back and read the old
posts. That would just make my usual downtime here rather a chore.
And I'm certainly not the only one who feels this way. Please, people, in
the name of all that is good and holy, quote what you're replying to. Things
go more smoothly for us all if we follow the same standards.
