which should i get as both the chips (athlon tb 700mhz and duron 800mhz) are almost the same. will the extra ext cache (athlon 700mhz) help performance rather than the higher speed (800mhz duron)???

well i think the tb700 will give you the extra horse power you need. the duron is the tunder bird strip down of L2 cache

It kinda depends on what you plan to be doing with the computer. If you just want to play games, I think the Duron is your better choice. However, if you want to run applications with rather large memory demands (large and complicated instructions) then the T-bird will serve you better. The larger cache allows for the fast processing of larger instructions. Imagine, 16MB of L2 Cache... You could process some pretty massive instructions then... if you could find anything that massive I guess... oh well, Duron is probably going to be your better choice!
