The bases of these coolers are heat pipes that spread the processor heat laterally so that all the fins are at a nearly equal temperature, and there is hardly any hot spot centered over the processor.
I've never seen any tests or even mention of the Thermacore coolers, which claim to have exceptional performance and are quiet. They provide most of the advantages of liquid cxooling without all the engineering.
The coolers are made for Coppermine and Athlon processors, and also the new P4. If anyone has had any experience with them, please share it.
