How to fix a dvd drive on a laptop

Hello,my dvd drive is not opening on its own, I have to use a pin to open it. Also it does not read any cd/dvd i put in it. Can anyone suggest a solution? Its a Dell Inspiron 1525.

Look up the part name/number and see if you can buy it from Dell or eBay or http://www.impactcomputers.com/dellparts.html
It should be easy to unscrew the broken dvd-drive out and put the new one in. Check the service manual or google it.
