(posted this question in rec.games.frp.dnd a few days ago to limited
success, so am trying it here - apols to anyone who has seen it already)

Have just come across the Elan, Dromite and Xeph in the Expanded Psionic
Handbook and would like to know whether they originated in some other
settings/products (and so are more fully detailed elsewhere) or were just
created *de novo* for this book. For example, the Half-Giants would seem
totally weird and out of place in any campaign world if I didn't realise
that they are repackaged Dark-Sun half-giants. Likewise it would be helpful
to me in imagining how I might use these other races if I understood their
"evolutionary history" in terms of how they have appeared in various
products/settings over the years. I hope so as these races are just
crying-out for some more fleshing-out: there's enough info in the book to
use them as monsters, but not enough that I'd want to use them as PC races.

(Tried searching the WoTC boards for info on this, but there's just too much
stuff there to trawl through, and queries take ages or fail altogether, so I
gave up.)

cheers

AlexD
