Problem with K6-2+

I have a problem running a K6-2+ 500MHz CPU on Acorp 5ALI61 motherboard with ALi Alladin 5 chipset.It is unable to run at more than 333 MHz althow the mother board supports up to 550 MHz settings.If anyone can, please help me!

What does it says ? does it locks up ? dont even reach BIOS.
What does it do ?

You may need to update your BIOS (using a flash utility from the mobo maker), cos the K6-2+ is (quite) new and there are some older boards which don't know about it.

I would do a CPU test also......if all the jumper settings are correct. I have a K6-3+ 450 and until I upgraded my mobo it only posted as a K6-2 400. When I ran the CPU performance tests inside of Windows it performed and posted as a K6-3 (still not + though) 450.....inside of Windows. See if that works. As suggested earlier make sure the FSB settings are correct (100mhz).
