Spoiler:
I searched the backlogs of the Google Group, and couldn't find anything
on this subject other than an incomplete "it perhaps does this" about
the effects of wearing "of anger" armor... so I decided to test it out
(after accidentally donning a cursed set of "of anger" armor).

The current Guidebook listing for the suffix "of anger" on armors says
that it "forces the wearer to use (at least?) offensive tactics. I
recently put on a ring mail of anger, and noticed 2 comments:

1) Your rage calms down a bit.
2) You feel an anger swelling up inyour bowels!

After some testing, I discovered that message 1 occurs when your tactics
are anything higher than "aggressive" and message 2 occurs when your
tactics are anything lower than "aggressive."

A few turns after getting this message, your tactics will automatically,
and without prompting you, change to "aggressive" (as shown by the DV/PV
indicator in the lower-left). It initially seemed that killing a
monster makes this change occur the very next turn, but I found this not
necessarily to be the case.

Some more testing led me to this conclusion:

You automatically switch to "aggressive" tactics on the turn that you
get either message 1 or 2 (which is the turn after switching tactics
away from "aggressive," but this change doesn't show up until something
happens that "refreshes" the screen.

I came to this conclusion because I noticed that certain actions
(walking, bumping into walls) didn't change my DV/PV, but others
(killing a monster) would set the DV/PV gauge to the "aggressive" level.
What was even more interesting is that checking my [i]nventory would
*also* make the DV/PV gauge change, even though the act of checking your
inventory takes zero game turns and has no impact any timing. In
addition, using the [T]actics command (as opposed to F1-F7 on a PC) to
change tactics would show that the tactics automatically changed to
"aggressive" on the turn that either message was received, and the DV/PV
shown in the lower-left corner would adjust accordingly, even if the
message was received several turns before checking what tactics level
one was at.

Summary: Armor "of anger" changes your tactics automatically to
"aggressive" one turn after changing them from "aggressive," but it
doesn't show up all of the time.

Therefore, I propose a change of the Guidebook to read something along
the lines of:

"of anger: automatically switches tactics to aggressive."

Sorry if this post was a bit wordy and drawn out; I was experimenting
with different things about the armor as I was typing this, causing me
to re-evaluate some of the things that I had already assumed and already
typed.
