I dunno if this helps anyone but heretis:
Our blinking adapter cards are probably caused by rude neighbors..I have
found two interlopers on my network.

Last nite (Reproduced this twice) I unplugged Modem...and MN500.
Unplugged from the wall. After an hour I plugged em' back in....all was
well. This dont last forever. After couple hours had to repeat. Hey I
dont know. I just moved here about 4 months ago. Everything was
wunderbar till night of 2nd debate...I logged on to say who I thought
won...and no connection on laptops. Only base was waorking. This is the
only thing that has worked.

Beats me

Sounds like you're (1) not using encryption and (2) using a generic network
name. Take a look in the User's Guide for WEP instructions, and you may
also be interested in some of the security suggestions in Microsoft MVP Barb

Ive had a prob initiating encryption cause when I go to setup, I get no
further than recognizing card, but cant connect with Base Sta. SoI go
back to base and set up encrypt, give it a password/number , go back to
one of my laps, rerun(as directed) my setup, and I hang after
recognizing card again. BUT I am seeing networks I dont know..like
Linksys and another mshome..(I changed name of mine) And then I see that
my channel is set on "12"???I use 6, like everyone.
I would like to encrypt but if I encrypt, I cant connect. ANd if I
hardwore, then theres no way to setup wireless connection, so I just
dont encrypt. Im in a residential neighborhood and I dont really have
any financial or anything on it. But it is a pisser, that my neighbors
are encroaching, Ive asked them but all deny it.

Use 1 or 11 for your channels, change your LAN name from the generic and use
WEP. If you're in an apartment or other close neighbor situation, being on
the same channel can cause interference.
