There must be a million threads for this, I've seen them everywhere.
I am trying to install something in Windows 7 RC1 x64 Build 7127 that has worked on windows xp (32 bit) and windows vista (also 32 bit.) and even windows 7 beta! (32 bit.)
The device is a steering wheel, which I've had for the original xbox days. I have a USB adapter, and I tried to use it with my computer.
I have followed EVERY guide known to the world wide web, and I still can't get the damn thing to work.
Windows recognizes it as "XBOX Steering Wheel" and Windows update finds no driver. Typical.
I found those x64 drivers, that seem like they'd work. It said you need to disable driver signing: /FAIL
I typed those 2 things in command prompt (disable signing, and test mode) individually. They both said "The operation has completed successfully"
So I restart, and it STILL says it didn't pass the digital signature check. I even found a PROGRAM that signs them, but that doesn't work either.
The steering wheel doesn't have a problem (When I was dual booting it worked in all of them except Windows 7x64)
Is there ANYTHING else I can try? If you're a driving enthusiast like me you know WSAD doesn't cut it. =/
Please and thanks
EDIT It's somehow surpassed me that I need to press F8 and disable driver signing as well. So the controller works now! But do I need to disable driver signing every time I boot up windows?
