I am about to finish the game with grey elven wizard, but it seems I won't
be able to go for an ultra ending. When already on D50, I realized I forgot
to pick up the medal and crown of chaos on my way down. I tried going up
immediately, but the staircase on d$) was down. So I cleared the D50,
pulled the levers and went up again to pick my chaos insignia. Now I'm again
on D48, but cannot go down. Is there a way to go down again. I've checked
before leraving and the levers can be opened again, but I cannot descend
below D48. The ultra is lost ?:(

Thanks for the response. I wondered around for some time, hoping for some
miracle that would let me down, but eventually admitted it would not happen
:). It might seem a regular win is fine enough, but my characters rarely get
to save Khelavaster, which means an ultra is out of the question. Besides,
Melianwen was truly mighty. I am certain she would beat Andor into a bloody
pulp :). There was not a single close call in the entire game and her
toughest fight was on the first level of blue dragon caves, surrounded by no
fewer than 27 great black wyrms. Acid immunity was my crowning boon, so that
was lucky. My DV was 200 on coward, so they rarely got to hit me and with
willpower over 50 I blasted them even when they managed to confuse me. Ah,
well, next time I'll bring the darn chaos items to D48 as soon as posible
and leave them there until needed.
