Hello,
My drive starts to copy files over from the drive but about a quarter thru copying I notice that the output starts to slow down. To the point where is comes up with errors stating that it can no longer copy said file. I have a Toshiba Satellite.

Try updating the driver/firmware for it via Toshiba's support site to see if that fixes the issue.
