Can some tell me the difference between a slot one secc a slot one secc2 CPU as they both have 242 pins and both are not coppermine CPUs

I believe that the main difference is in the casing that encloses the chip. The SECC and SECC2 are clipped onto the motherboard in a different manner.

Also SECC heatsinks are not compatible with SECC2 micro-processors.

You should have no problems using a SECC2 in a Slot 1 board.
I installed a PIII-650 on my AOpen AX6B (440BX) without a hitch.

Umm- the only difference (i think) is that Slot 2 can use the Xeon- whilst the Slot 1 can't.

secc2 still fits in a Slot 1 (PII, PIII) not a Slot 2 (xeon) slot

SECC2 is not the same as slot 2. Basically it goes like this:

Slot1 (SECC1): Older PIIs/PIIIs
Slot1 (SECC2): Newer PIIIs (different clipping method, I think)
Slot2: PII/PIII Xeon
