Microsoft Network 802.11b Poor signal strength

My MS-500 base station and MN-520 laptop adapter don't
provide thre signal strength range I need in my house...
15'-20' to family room (low signal) and 40'-45' max
(weak -zero signal)to my patio.

I can't find any Microsoft signal booster equipment or
I'd install/try it. I tried Linksys Range Extender but
its WDS extender technology is incompatible (according to
the Linksys Tech after an intensive half hour effort to
help).

Anybody know a solution, please? Thanks!

Strength in some areas is related to construction, and can be as simple is
blockage from a refrigerator. However, you can try some things like
changing channels on the MN-500, higher or lower. You can also try changing
the physical location of the base station, raising or lowering it, and make
sure it is away from walls and other electrical appliances. There is no way
boost the signal, since there are internal and external antenna on the
Microsoft systems.
