Hi;

A few years ago I purchased a refurbished Samsung CLP-510 printer.
It has generally performed well, but lately prints images and text "blotchily."

Here are some samples:

I've tried shaking the toner cartridges and also disassembling the printer, cleaning it, and reassembling it. Sometimes this fixes the issue for 1 or 2 prints; after that, it's back to blotchiness.

The Samsung "info page" reports the following numbers:

---------------------------------
SAMSUNG Color Laser Printer CLP-510 Series

OS Version 1.15 07-05-2005 Engine Version

Consumables Life:

Total Image Count : 12397 Images
Total Page Count: 1305/7022 color/mono
Imaging Unit Life: 12395 Images
Fuser Life : 9334 pages
Transfer Roller Life: 8328 Pages
Tranfer Belt Life: 12072 Images
Toner Image Count: 1288/1303/1303/5368 Images (C/M/Y/K)
Tray Roller Life: 31/6319 Pages
---------------------------------

Also, ever since I've owned it, the printer occasionally says "Install Imaging Unit." This was happening before the blotchy problems started, but I thought I'd mention it.

For a variety of personal reasons I am willing to do what it takes to fix this printer. But what that is, I don't know.

Do you?

Thank you in advance,

Alan

Had the same problem before and changed the transfer belt unit. Haven't looked back since.
