Well there ok im making a beowulf for Hard drives + internet. I was selling the internet and harddrive space for my neighbors w/ 56k. Well this is my idea.

HD server

K6-2+ 550
128mb pc100 sdram
(4)20gb udma 100 hd - RAID 0 + 1
100mb ethernet
No- video, sound, monitor, etc.


Internet server

(2)p3 733 mhz
512mb pc100 Sdram
(4)6.4gb hd - raid 0 + 1
gigabit ethernet -pci66
onboard 2mb video
no sound, monitor, etc.
(4)1.5mb dsl lines - $300 per month


Master

(2)p2 xeon
512mb pc133 sdram
15gb scsi3 10k rpm
gigabit ethernet
8mb onboard w/ onboard sound
15in monitor


any idea's

Yeah, nice. My company built a beowulf cluster using K6-2 350's which worked well, with 48 meg per box, with a PII-500 master for SMP apps and stuff, about a year-and-a-half ago, and it still works fine. We built on 19" rackmount, maybe you should consider this if you've got limited space.

I don't quite get what you're saying about selling hard drive space over 56k connections though - maybe it's just my English comprehension :)
