Any built in functions to query the kernel for uptime?

I think Norton System Doctor has a uptime meter... but anything simpler?

Thanks

Just look in the system event log for event id 6009. The description should be something like "Microsoft (R) Windows 2000 (R) 5.0 2195 Service Pack 1 Uniprocessor Free. " The event time is when the machine started.

Idle process is the time when the CPU is actually bored to tears and doing nothing. In my case, it's been on full load since my last reboot which is a day ago. So it's showing about an hour.

As for the system event log, I have like 20 6009 events all showing same description but with different times...
Is it the latest one? Looks sorta like it

Thanks
