Computer LED monitor as a tv

What outputs do you have from the satellite dish or receiver box?

With those connections, it will be tricky to use the monitor as a TV, because you'll need a converter box, such as this one:

But from personal experience, I can tell you that boxes like this don't always work properly with LCD monitors (in early 2007, I tried to use some StarTech converter boxes to get signals from my video game console to show up on my Samsung 930B, but after having several issues with that, I bought a monitor with its own component and composite inputs, which worked a lot better).

Alternatively, you could get a TV tuner for your computer (I've read that the Hauppage TV tuners are popular, but I haven't tried them myself) and use the 20 inch as a second monitor that the TV tuner shows video on.

yes i know about the tv tuner but i want a tv i an another room so that i thought that i could use this led monitor without selling them for low price
