My Tungsten C seems to be having problems with digitizer synchronization
at the upper middle part of the touch screen.

Most of the touch screen is functioning well, but sometimes when I want to
click something in the upper middle part of the display, I can't click
what I see on the screen - instead I have to click way above what I'm
seeing on the screen.

This may or may not be related to my running "digifix", which seemed to
cure all of my digitizer synchronization problems on my old Palm IIIxe.

I've tried disabling digifix and recalibrating using the palm utility, but
it doesn't seem to be helping.

Has anyone else seen this?

Is there a fix?

I had a similar problem and did a hard reset to improve the situation.

Did you try the Palm Update for the Tungsten C? There is a 3rd
update. It incorporates updates 1 and 2, but doesn't describe what
those updates fixed.

I know that Tungsten T digitizer had just the problem you described,
and there was an update to fix it. (It had a raft of other digitizer
problems that were reported to be physical / mechanical, too.)

If you haven't performed the update, can't hurt and it might help.

I probably won't help much, but we had a similar problem with industral
touchscreen monitors. The digitizers were all too often nonlinear, so we
had to write our own touchscreen driver and change the standard 2 point
calibration (upper-left and lower-right corner) and incorporate a 9
point method with matrix recalculation.

Well... I know I applied an update a while back, but I wasn't sure which
one it was, nor was I sure whether it would hang on after a hard reset.

So I went to the PalmOne website, and verified that I'm not supposed to
need the 3rd update, because I have "SLC 6/22/04 7:" on my T|C.

Also, a hard reset did not help matters, though I must confess that I did
a full restore afterward, so I haven't really ruled out some bad software
yet.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I think I'll do a backup, hard reset, and then see if it still has the
glitch prior to reinstalling my applications...

It was actually easier than I'd expected to test if it was something in
the hardware (or the stuff in ROM), rather than one of my apps.

As alluded to above, I:

1) Did a full backup with jpilot
2) Did a hard reset, which naturally led to a digitizer calibration
3) Opened the built in memo pad application
4) Typed four or five lines of a's
5) Attempted to select various A's
6) Found that I still had the problem, even without any third party
applications

Anybody know how long the warranty on T|C's is? I may have to ship mine
back for repairs.
