Forum ms office word for windows 7

Hello,
I using MS Word Office 7 - while typing, the caps key is locked now when striking letters. When hitting "4" key on top row, changes to $ sign and back just fine. What may I do to fix this? Thank you very much for your assistance!

Is this on a laptop that doesn't have the 10 keys on the right hand side of the keyboard?

If so, make sure that you didn't accidentally turn the NUM LOCK off.
