Keyboard Ghosting?

The problem I have shouldn't be a problem at all, but apparently I'm just a one in a million case.

I like to use the ALT key as a crouch key, but it's easier to access than the control key with my pinky finger. However, in almost all games, whenever I use ALT and A or ALT and S, nothing happens. It's just A and S. So crouching and moving left or down. It doesn't work at all. Then again, sometimes if I am already moving and crouch, then it can work. It's only at times though.

I find it very annoying to see no help for my problem online and it frustrates me to believe I'm the only person who uses crouch instead of control.

Could be a bunch of stuff, if ALT works just fine on it's own to crouch you are not hitting it at the right time.

Also check that that key combo is not mapped to another function.

i know for a fact that the alt key toggles an option for keyboard navigating through menu systems in windows. perhaps some windows function is alt+s or alt+a... or perhaps the game does not allow that key command for some reason.
